Buckslayer
Lew, how do all those fish stay good until you can get them back to shore? And how do they all get out of the fish hold? Turn the boat upside down? j/k, but really how?
NS whitetail
Lew, how do all those fish stay good until you can get them back to shore? And how do they all get out of the fish hold? Turn the boat upside down? j/k, but really how? We take around 5 ton of ice with us in the fish hold. As we catch the fish and put them away in the hold (which is divided off in sections), we ice them really good. We unload the boat using a bucket that holds 300 pounds and a hoist on the wharf. We just pitch the fish in the bucket using pitchforks and the guy on the wharf hoists them up and dumps them in large wooded boxes that hold 2000 pounds or so. hope this helped ya understand abit. my friend took his video cam out a few times this summer and took some footage. When he gets around to making me a copy, I'm gonna make some CD copies. If anyone wants one -- pm me

Missed160
How long do you usually go out for, day trips usually or for days at a time? Do you ever have problems with sea sickness?
NS whitetail
How long do you usually go out for, day trips usually or for days at a time? Do you ever have problems with sea sickness? we go for 4 days at a time when longline fishing for haddock and cod etc. and go by the day when lobster fishing. yes, I used to get seasick once in a while when I was younger, now it is mainly sick of the sea
