Guest wildotter
A couple of buddies and I are planning a trip to Northern Missouri to bowhunt. We are going up for a quick look around this weekend before we go in late October. Our prospective hunting locations right now are Emmett and Leah Seat M.C.A. and Elam Bend C.A. Does anyone have any information on hunting pressure for bow season on either of these two areas? We have been told they don't receive a lot of pressure prior to the gun seasons opening, but wanted some first-hand knowledge if possible. otter
dfol20
I have hunted Leah and Emmit a couple times when I was in college in Maryville. I saw one good buck real early one morning on the north end. I didn't get out there too much too look around enough. It looked like a great place, as far as public land goes. I talked to a guy that lives around there and he said that the closer to the rut you get the more people there will be, but there is a lot of land there. He also said there is a lot of deer (it is Missouri, that is a gimme), but not a lot of big ones. I had a feeling that he wasn't being totally honest thought. I would definately recommend it if you have time to scout it and hunt it. There is a lot of land. I can't say about Elam bend, never been there. Good luck. let me know how it goes.
