Guest grunt0331
I'm just wondering how many folks would pass up a hunt if their favorite college football team was playing in a big-time televised game? I know I have gone in a little later than I wanted or skipped out altogether when the Gamecocks are on TV. Just curious if anyone else is as torn between the two greatest seasons. wildthing
Not sure who your cable tv carrier is in NC, but that is why Tivo or Comcast DVR is a handy upgrade. Never miss a thing!
Dukey
Depends on the weather, if they are good hunting conditions I would probably go, but it also depends on who the HUSKERS were playing that sat. GO BIG RED!!!!!
Guest andymansavage
Can't TIVO a day in the woods. I would be sitting in the stands going crazy. I have passed up BYU vs USC tickets for hunting. We lost anyway. Andy
toddyboman
Heck no, I'm going hunting. Might wanna looking into these "new" inventions called a VCR, DVR or TIVO....;):)
Dogg6
Hunt!
BearClaw
The way I 'might' see it is this...if I stayed out of the woods and watched the game and they lost, I'd regret not being in the woods. If my team won, I'd be happy but I'd still be happy if they won and I was out in the woods. I'm not that big of a football fan (college or NFL) although I follow WVU and the Terps in college and the Skins and Steelers in the NFL. Not enough to stay out of the woods on a beautiful fall day though for the college teams. It goes back to the saying "You can't have it all!" But recording the game isn't a bad idea either! Gotta choose! Which one has the 51% of the passion?
MichiganHunter
i would be in the woods in a heart beat......i can always catch the higlights of the game on ESPN but they never show what i missed at my tree stand when i'm not there. Guest adrenaline_junky
HUNT, without a doubt.
wtnhunt
I hunt in the fall. Honestly between the kids and hunting I have fallen far away from where I used to be with watching sports. Just dont keep with or follow teams and stats like I used to in any sports anymore.
Guest adamo
I'm a Notre Dame fan... so should get plenty of hunting in this year!! On the other hand, my Packers have a great start... I like to listen to the games on the radio.
Dawg
What's football?!?!?!? Huntin' all the time!
Guest grunt0331
I do have a buddy who is an avid UGA fan. He has a litle radio with an earpiece he takes in with him so he can hunt and listen to Larry Munson call the game. TiVo and DVr is a good idea, but my wife tells me we spend too much on cable already.
rhine16
There is no way i would sit at home and watch Mississippi State get their brains beat out instead of hunting. Heck, when we went 10-2 in 99 i still wouldnt have. Deer hunting over that dang pigskin anyday!
mehunter
Thats why they make recorders. You can always watch the game later, but you can never make up lost time in the outdoors.
Guest cowboy89
i would go hunting no matter what. theres all ways espn
Guest WIsportsman
Tough call, but the first time I ever went hunting we were in the woods in the morning then watching the Dawgs pound UK on a beautiful southern fall football afternoon. Then back to the woods on Sunday. It was a great weekend. I think you can do both if you really want to.
Guest pabowhunter
well as much as love football especially the steelers and WVU i will not miss a day in the woods. After all ya never know what may happen and that day in the stand could be your last and i wont take that chance!!! Guest Finn
I would hunt and DVR it. The only time I'd miss hunting is if one of my kids are playing, I'd be there watching.
lowcountry boy
I know I have gone in a little later than I wanted or skipped out altogether when the Gamecocks are on TV. Hey Grunt, Glad to see a fellow Gamecock here. I'd miss to go in person, but would have to tape it in favor of passing on a hunt. Then again, I usually hunt during the week. You worried about Miss. St. this weekend?
J.ALLEN.IA
I would definitely use the ole DVR for any sporting event just to bypass the commercials, and would never give up time in a stand to catch the game:D
Nut
The only time I'd miss hunting is if one of my kids are playing, I'd be there watching. Well opening morning is here and I am not going out for that exact reason. I have to have the boys at the school by 6:30 am for the bus. Game is at 10 am so I have to leave by 8 am and I have to wait until this afternoon to get out. But I would not miss them playing for anything.
