OUTDOORLIFE3
what unit are you hunting in??? i went out for the first time myself this year and had an absolute blast, I saw several elk including 1 monster and kept on going after him...the one main thing that everyone kept on telling me is to play the wind
stevebeilgard
aim just behind the front leg, about midway up, and squeeze gently... lol. and good luck. elk are just like whitetails. same sight, hearing, habits, etc. use a good binoc, and a spotting scope if you have one. let your eyes do the walking. you'll probably not see them first without optics. now, the most important thing. as you hunt, think "where would i be today if i had on a 1/2" thick fur jacket." if it's above 35 degrees, you'd be on the north slope in the shade. if it's cold, you'd be on the south side in the sun. anywhere in between, you'd be..... BR44
stay calm, relaxed breathing, eyes fixed on point of aim (NOT THE ANTLERS), ease the release. G O O D L U C K !!
