Guest Ironhorse
When field hunting where you might get into geese and ducks, what do you do with your spread? Thanks!
dogdoc
I haven't done a lot of field hunting but this is what I have observed while field hunting: I have never had geese come into a spread with only duck decoys I have had ducks come into a spread with only geese decoys I have had ducks and geese come into a spread with both. camoman1
i havent done any serious field hunting in a while...but i agree with dogdoc. I have never put out any duck decoys on land..but i have had flocks of mallards do 'fly overs' within shooting range with only goose decoys out. I would have to believe if there were some duck decoys out , they probably would have actually decoyed. I cant see it hurting anything if u put both out, so if ya got em, might as well use em. The exception would be green fields, i pesonally have never seen ducks in a green field, only grain fields. * if u do use both, i would not mix them together much..kinda keep the ducks in their own little spot*
stevebeilgard
use a few dozen geese, at least. then, add a few or even a dozen ducks, off slightly to the side but still well within shooting range. works for me
