MichiganHunter
Ok michigan bow season opens monday and i was out checking my area today making last stand adjustments, MY stand location is on a ridge above two elevated swamps between a soybean field and a clover field and when i was up in my stand checkin my shooting lanes (12:30ish) i looked down in the swamp infront of me...up wind and there was the second biggest buck i've ever seen in the wild (not in a pen or on tv)....(missed the first biggest last gun season)....but he is TALL my 8pt last year scored 135 1/8th after deductions and i guess in the 130's after shooting him and lookin at this deer he is easy in the mid 140, tall g2's like my 8pt in the 12in range but he had more points than i could count from my location, i had a small pair of binos' and couldn't zoom in well but he was crossing through the swamp to bed...didn't think i spooked him....but best i could tell he had at least 12pts give or take a 2, i know what i'll be looking for come monday and i hope i can get a good pic up for you all so ya know I'm not full of it....HAHA...only thing i'm worried about is he is on STATE LAND...i know the area i'm in dont get looked at much so i'm hoping he dont get buggered..wish me luck. AdvantageTimberLou
If you need some help give me directions and I can help hunt him for you! LOL!! Good luck getting him. There are tons of great bucks on state land. Deer don't know what is private or public. Hopefully your in an area with little hunting pressure as he didn't get that big by being spotted. You my friend have done your homework and are in his area, good luck. Hope to be reading success pictures about you getting that buck very soon! Texan_Til_I_Die
A 12 point with 12 inch G2's, assuming the rest of the tines are proportional, is probably a 160+ deer. Good luck with that one!!!

toddyboman
Good luck!! Hope to see some pics and a story of your success :)
craig mack
Your best chance at him will probably be monday. I would stay in stand all day. Once he feels the hunting pressure (being on state land) he may move. Good luck
kingfisherfd2
Here is the bonus. You have already seen the deer. You know that if you see him again and he is in range, you will shoot him. It is a decision that has been made. You already know that he is a shooter. Now he is just another deer and you are going to put an arrow through him. I know that having seen pictures of the deer I took on opening day made staying calm when he arrived a little easier. Good luck. Hope that you will get to draw back on him on Monday. phil
bigbuck145
Sounds like a good buck hope you get a arrow in him. Hope we get to see some pics soon GOOD LUCK.
BearClaw
Yea, the pressure from the state land may force him back over. I hunt private land about 50 yds from the state ground. I know the pressure will funnel some deer over. Hope you get the big one!!! Sounds awesome!
Guest antlerhead
i agree with texan he probably will score 160 or better. goodluck hunting him. sometimes its tough to hunt just one paticular deer though. but if you get a crack at him try all you can to make it count. remember you only get one shot. MichiganHunter
LOL AGAIN TY FOR THE SCORE GUESS....lol....i know there are a couple of bucks in the area and i would like to harvest him but having NEVER shot a buck with a bow anything past 2.5years old would be getting the shaft from my bow. Guest outdoorgirl
Good luck the pressure is on knowing you have a monster buck in the area and never have shot a deer with your bow. This is what hunting is all about and don't forget the duct tape so you can tape your knees together and stop them from clanging together when he appears j/k Just knowing he is around will make hunting this year exciting and what a deer he will make for your first bow kill Good luck !!
