Well not really happy about only getting one point out of the first two games, however I am pretty happy with the way the leafs played minus their penalty problems in key moments of the game and a lack of power play goals. Toskala looked sharp in net last night, it should be a good season.

Here is a question for anybody who saw last nights game, why was the goal called back? If it was goaltender interference should there not have been a penalty?

Calgary didn't look all that great against the flyers last night, I bet Iron Mike was pretty happy after the game!!!!!

Actually Todd the Blue notes should be tough this year. They lost 3-2 to the Coyotes last night, but they haven't won a season opener since 96.They play the Kings tomorrow night so hopefully that will go a little better.West coast games suck...I made it halfway through the second last night before i fell asleep.

There's a NEW NHL Rule in play this season that says you can't make contact with the goalie,, even if you are the puck carrier .. STUPID I KNOW ,, but that's what they said...:confused:

The reason why it's NOT a penalty is that it's considered incidental contact ...:rolleyes:

That would be defenseman Eric Johnson. The Pens looked hard at him but went with Jordan Staal instead, I'd say they made the right choice on that one.;)

Johnson should be a beast though.

Yea,I hope Johnson ends up being a stud on D for the Blues.I still think they should've taken Staal. They've needed more goals the past few years that he could've provided.

It will be funny to see if they carry through with that rule all season long! Just how much contact will be allowed in front of the net when there is a scramble for a loose puck???

I said it before and I will say it again, AHL games are better than NHL games:eek:. That's right, my thoughts anyway. There is more heart, grit, determination and thoughness in the AHL. Through my life I have been to multiple AHL games and quite a few NHL games and if I had to choose between season tickets, it would be in the AHL. Those guys want to go somewhere!!! I'll always like the Bruins but I keep as much in sync with the AHL as I do with the NHL!

GO Hershey Bears!!!

They may be good games guys...but I will have to say there is nothing like going to see some of the games best when they are playing....I have been to the Sens games and seen alot of big names play....and when they are there to play there is nothing like it....so the boys in the AHL are there to play and try to get some where the big boys are there...and when they come to play its great to watch.

I'll agree a little with that Joe. I am sure that the arenas up there in Canada get pretty loud when those Canadian teams get together like Ottawa and Toronto or Montreal. I think hockey is more meaningful in Canada than the US. Now Boston usually puts on a good show (despite their losing streak) and hockey has been a tradition in Boston for a long time. But I would love to come up to Ottawa, Montreal, or Toronto to watch a game between their rivals;)

But you take a place like Hershey. Hershey is one of the very few original AHL teams left (this is their 70th year!). Hershey is also the ONLY team to never have changed their name. It's hard to get tickets to a weekday game in Hershey if you can imagine that for AHL. If you want to see gritty tough hockey, come to Hershey and watch the fans and players rock that arena each and every time. That is what I grew up with. So when I used to go watch the Flyers and Boston, they couldn't compare to Hershey when it came to that.

Oh, BTW, John Paddock who is the Sens coach...he was the Hershey Bears coach back when I was a season ticket holder in the 80's! He took Hershey to a Calder Cup as well! Oh, your GM coached the Bears too back in the wee early 80's but he wasn't as good as Paddock.
