Well.........they didn't, they didn't and they are. This is the same style of play that lost them Game 4 against Philly.

I guess I dont see what that has to do with the total lack of defense ... The Wings pretty much had there way with em ... I mean the last goal was just a layup it was in front of the net with no defense ... and then a shorthanded goal how does that happen with defense ... and then 1 on 3 and unassisted seriuosly where was there any signs of defense.

Other then the Wings great defense ... that is

Detroit played very, very well and deserved the win. Pittsburgh looked nervous, sluggish, and made plenty of unforced mistakes. With that said, a couple of bounces here or there and this is a different game. Crosby and company had at least 3 golden chances down low with Osgood sprawling and couldn't stuff it in. Next game should be a lot different.

Also, I was afraid Coach Therrian's ridiculous tendencies would show in this series. One of them being the musical lines he likes to play with. I've never seen such a joke combination of lines as he was putting out there halfway through the game....and the ice time........Malkin 17 minutes, Crosby 18 minutes....are you kidding me? I guarentee Zetterberg and Datsyuk had at least 22 minutes a piece.

Good observations ... except with that being said ... a few more lucky bounces on Detroits part and its a blowout ... the one that hit both poles wow ... and the no goal that shoulda been a goal ... that can go both ways ... as far as the lines I wondered what that was all about ... I think the Defense had there number tonight ....no doubt now we just need to keep it up for 3 more games.

The Holmstrom penalty was close but you have to call that. Can't put your stick in between the goalies legs no matter how subtle....although Fluery was dang close to being out of the crease.

Defensively the Red Wings were obviously very good. One thing they were doing was really crashing into the center of the ice especially when Crosby and Malkin were on the ice. I noticed lots of space on the wings, I'm interested to see if the Penguins can find a way to adjust to that.

One game does not a series make!!! The Clings dropped 2 to Dallas didn't they?? How quickly we forget! The Pens will regroup and adjust and will be back...book it!

Just tell your team that they probably should control the puck more if they want to beat the wings.;) You cant score if you dont have the puck and the wings pretty much did what they wanted. The Clings???? Whats that? I'm sure you can come up with something better than that!!! After this series you will probably be calling them the CHAMPS!!!!:D:D:D

GO WINGS!!!!

who cares lol ... they won and they put them away with a beating much like the one the Penns got last night ... and you are very wrong one game can set a series especially when you win 4-0 and DOMINATE the other team you bet it can get a team control of a series ...

Oh...I'm sorry, what's the name of the NHL team from Ohio in the finals??? Oh..that's right! :p

Follow along. I've been a Wings fan for years, since 1989 in fact. I used to go see their "farm" team the Toledo Storm all the time when I went to college in Toledo. Back then the Blue Jackets were but a twinkle in someone's eye.

At least you picked the right bordering states hockey team to go for ... you did have a choice granted not much of one but a choice none the less.

We are not on here talking about the Pens defense because nobody has bragged about the Pens defense for one, and two we actually watch the games instead of jumping on the bandwagons like the Red Wings fans.;)

Pitt doesn't have a defense to speak of ...

Pitt has no defense??? Lay off the pipe dude!!! :DWestern conf is weak...Pens in 5 ...book it!!!:D

And I can't find it but someone was spouting off about the amount of goals they have allowed blah blah this playoffs ... blah blah ... all I can say is Score Board .... I cant wait to see what happens in PittsBurg ... I dont really care what happens there because regardless they have to win in Detroit ... Not gonna happen ... I think they take it on Enemy Ice biter sweet.

See I dont know if the Pen fans know this or not but you see in order to win a game you have to SCORE a GOAL ... :D:p:D

Oh and last time I went to school the Penns would have to win out .... and that would make six ... not 5 ... Book it ... Maybe my teacher buddy from Ohio can confirm this math for me since obviously a Penguins fan doesn't know how to do math this complex :p:D:p:eek:

Hmmmmmm, let's see. I'm not a math teacher, but I've been told (since I'm a bandwagon hockey fan) that to win Lord Stanley's cup you must win the best of 7 games, let's seeeeeee, ummmmm, that means you have to win 4 games, correct? Let's seeee, hmmmmmmmm, Wings are up 2-0, hmmmmmm, Penguins have to win 4 to win, hmmmmm, 4 plus 2 that the Wings have already won, hmmmmm, yep, they'll at least have to take it to game 6.

But what do I know, I've only been cheering for the Wings since 1989, so I guess my math doesn't count.:D
