sskybnd Posted September 30, 2007 Report Share Posted September 30, 2007 will i think i planted my food plots to soon, this year, planted about 2 arces of food plots and spent alot for seed, week before it was about an inch tall and very green, went to fill feeders and the plots we nothing but ground, but could see the trackes we every where, called the whitetail instutute, and told them what had happend they said i had to many deer for the amount of plots and to just throw some more seeds over the ground any one plated so late in the year with any results? SoybeanMan Posted October 1, 2007 Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 It may be a little late for bow season, but we can plant wheat in Arkansas up to the first of Dec. if it is warm enough. The U of A recommends planting after Oct. 15 to avoid the Hessian Fly. Are you north or south of I-40? Recommended wheat seed rates are 80-120 pounds per acre for our cultivars.
