Rem308
Well, Squirrel season opens in WV this coming Saturday, Oct. 6th. I am going to try something I have never done, I'm taking my Smith & Wesson Model 22A .22 auto out and seeing if I can get a squirrel with it. I love shooting this pistol, and with the longer bull barrel it is very accurate. I am still shooting the open sights, still contemplating moving up to a scope of some sort. I'll keep ya posted and post some pictures if i have luck.
johnf
I've got a cheap red dot on my Beretta Neos and love it. I've only sighted it in once and have shot several thousand rounds out of it, and it's still dead onl. I went tree rat hunting with it and had a blast. I hit more than my buddy and he was using a riffle with 4x scope.
WNY_Whitetailer
Squirrels with a semi-auto is a blast...I've taken my Browning Buckmark out a few times and had a blast...I mounted a Simmons red dot on that baby...Nice little combo. Rem308
I worked a lot on accuracy over the summer w/ this little Smith & Wesson. It shoots Federal's best, and I could tell a very little difference between the hollow points and the 40 grain target loads. I will get some pictures, hopefully of me and squirrels...not just me and plenty of empty shells.
Rem308
Well I went out this morning, had been in the woods for about 30 minutes and still hadn't even clicked off the safety. I was videoing a fox squirrel jumping around in the treetops, could hear some deer snorting at me, and could hear something walking VERY slowly in the leaves. I was going to just keep filming until I saw whatever it was coming, then I'd take a shot at the squirrel. Ended up being a grouse walking, and I filmed it a good bit, which was pretty cool. I was getting ready to try to find the squirrel again and get a shot when my work-cell started going crazy. See, I had to cover for a co-worker this weekend, so I am on call. Long story short within 30 minutes, I was driving down the highway on the cell phone talking work instead of talking about hunting. Ahhh, oh well, I'll get out there and get a squirrel with a handgun sooner or later.
