PotashRLS
My brother found(smelled)my doe on Friday, 5 1/2 days after shooting her. Turns out a bear sighting and a sow with 3 cubs on the cuddeback clued us in. The doe was on the opposite end of the property I shot her on and was under some thick white pines next to a food plot. She was too far gone to see any holes in her but we tried. We put Vicks Vapor Rub in our noses and shoveled her onto a tarp so we could get her out of that area. The coyotes and the bears ate well for a while. Out recent warm weather has put the deer in slow mode and the hunting has been poor. Cooler weather is on the way, it always comes eventually. jbeck
Glad to hear that she didn't go to waste, bears have to eat too. Way to stick with it, hope the next one drops in sight.
drkillemquick
That's too bad that you lost her, it's terribly when you can't recover your kill.
wtnhunt
That is too bad. Cannot afford to let them sit overnight here. Yotes are that bad in this area, that they will find a downed deer in a very short time frame, and it does not take them any time to ruin one.
