BearClaw
I know deer don't move as much when it is warm. And it is really crucial to get to one asap when it's warm so the meat doesn't spoil. That being said, what is the temperature range that you will hunt in. What is the warmest before you say just to wait until it cools a bit.
Sam16
I'm going this weekend, and i noticed the high for friday is a stifling 83. Not looking forward to it, but i cant wait to get out there for the first time this year.
Tominator
If it's mid 70's or higher, it's really difficult for me to get motivated. It was 72 degrees on November 2nd when I shot my last deer. That was in 2005 for me.
rhine16
Well i went today, and i think it topped out around 86. Personally, I'm going no matter what the temperature is. The deer have to eat at some point.
Ravin R10 man
I shot a doe opening day..I think it was close to 80 that day..you just have to skin them out right away, or get it in a cooler, or cut up and in the freezer
wtnhunt
Warmest temps I have hunted have been in the low 90's, and really dont usually see much. Our opening weekend this year it was around 90 in the afternoons and I decided not to go out those afternoons. Went out this past weekend just one of the afternoons, and it was in the upper 80's, but I did see deer well before sunset. I have never killed a deer this early on in the year, but we deal with warm temps here occasionally even later on in the seasons. Killed one with the muzzleloader one year on a rather warm afternoon where I was swatting wasps and skeeters out of my face, got sweaty walking out to the stand and was thinking I would never see anything, but to my surprise had over a dozen deer come out. Think it was up around 80 that day. We generally have to quarter our deer right away, and pack them in a cooler. On rare occasions we have been able to let deer hang. wildthing
here is the Pittsburgh, PA area the temps have ranged during the day from 70-85 over the past 2 weeks, with lows of 40-55. Normally, I like to enjoy my autumns...watch the leaves change...with temps hovering around 60 (+/-), but this year, I'd like to see if cool off as fast as it can...we have had EHD in my area! Tony
biggest buck i ever saw was a few years ago on nov 3rd and it was 83 degrees and a 30 mph south wind. the fact is you cant shoot a deer if your at home. the only thing i dont like to hunt in is rain. i just dont like getting me and my bow and gear wet.
