You can wash Scent-Lok products but this is not a necessary step in the activation process. Washing does not harm the activated carbon but it may loosen some excess carbon. You only need to wash Scent-Lok clothing if it becomes extremely dirty or under extreme use in the field. Garments worn close to the skin or in hot weather will need to be washed more often. Machine wash on gentle cycle, cold water with non-scented sports wash or a carbon clothes wash approved by Scent-Lok such as Scent-Lok Premium Clothes Wash. Under normal use Scent-Lok clothing can be washed 1 to 2 times a season. Garments worn close to the skin may require more frequent washings.
