It's supposed to be 91 today here in Kentucky! We are in a pretty bad drought as well. Actually the drought has kept the deer moving alot more because there aren't many water sources. The mast crop is pretty poor this year due to the drought. I shot a doe by a couple of white oaks within sight of a pond. Definately makes the deer more predictable.

90's here for today and tomorrow and upper 80's for the weekend.I went out last night for the first time this season and it was 85.The average high is supposed to be about 75.It's hard to get into it with the temps being so high.Last night by the time I got to my stand my rubber boots were full of sweat and the skeeters about carried me away.If we get a good cool down it should get things moving...including me.

One good thing about the skeeters is that thermacell thing works like a dream!

No soccer games this weekend, so looks like I'll head out Saturday and Sunday morning, but it's hard for me to get motivated to hunt in mid 80 degree weather.:(

It's supposed to be in the upper 80s and low 90s this weekend here too. But since i can only hunt weekends cause of college, my butt is gonna be planted in a stand every morning and evening this weekend. Hope deer movement isn't getting too slow, and mornings are cool, so hopefully that will help ;)

Last weekend here in KY the highs were in the 80s and 90s, but it was only in the 40s saturday morning. The deer were moving like crazy! Hope you have luck.

I'm looking forward to trying out the thermacell this weekend though. I've heard great things about it.

They work! I got set up last week in the evening, and got bit up pretty good, then once I was up in the tree, I fired that thing up and within 10 minutes, zero bugs. I turned it off right before I got down, and within 10 seconds, I had a skeeter buzzing in my ear.

They work.
