kingfisherfd2
Here in NC, it doesn't seem like getting a deer processed is like it is in MI. I can get a deer butchered, but can't seem to get summer sausage and zwick Sticks or slim jim's made. I have concidered getting one of those jerky extruder kits. Does anyone have a good jerky recipe. It doesn't necessarily need to be spicey. If it is a good teriyaki or bbq stick that would be good too. I just want to process some of my burger into something I will be able to share with friends easier as well. Thanks Phil
OJR
Buy the whole works from Cabela's!
LifeNRA
I been using Cabela's Teriyaki jerky mix for years! Everybody loves it! Only problem is, the seasonings make a ten pound batch! I am sure you could divide that in half for five pound batches. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod-wrapped.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=&rid=&indexId=cat601660&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=3&parentType=index&parentId=cat601660&id=0023014 The High Mountain Products are great too!!! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod-wrapped.jsp?id=0012502&navCount=5&parentId=cat601660&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601660&rid=
brownie65
High Mountain seasonings are great. Make several flavors. My favorites are mesquite & hickory

matq2gs
I use the High Mountain and the lems and both are good. I bought a jerky shooter and I really like it. I just got a summer sausage kit from Cabelas and made 15# of it the other day from a deer I shot last week. It really turned out good. I lucked out a buddy had a freind that was throwing away an electric meat grinder and a sausage press. He got it for me . They only used them one time and the guy said it was to much work. They had been sitting on the shelf a the shed for about 15 years. It is work but the rewards are worth it.
