Shaun_300
It's been acting weird lately, go through spurts of running super slow, freezing, etc. It did it again tonight and I got VERY ticked off at it and unplugged it from the wall. I'm surprised I didn't throw it out the window. Anyway, plugged it back in and fired it up, comes up with a black screen asking how I want to boot windows up, safe mode, normal, etc. I tried every one and the Windows XP screen comes up, then it goes back to the same black screen. I believe she's toast, what do ya think?? I'm on my bro's computer now....

Shaun_300
My buddy at work used to work on computers, I'll take it to him next week to see if he can figure out what the heck is going on, if not I may end up just getting a new tower, or a new laptop. buckee
Maybe it's time to get it re-formated.
VermontHunter
YEP,,, Sounds as if when you unplugged it from the wall it was in the middle of something and the sudden lose of electricity damaged some critical files and therefore can't reboot .. ;) If your buddy can't replace the damaged files,, try a reformat and a clean reinstall if Windows XP .. Good Luck Shaun ..
Griz
I had a Gateway that did the same thing to me and as time went on it got worst and black screened on me. I took it in to have it checked out and they said that the Mother Board was gone... So I took it out and shoot it so it wouldn't suffer anymore... Good Luck Shaun... Guest Andrea
Very same thing happened to me. The guy who fixes my computer said the hard drive was fried. And it was cheaper to get a new computer. So I did.
