Bang and Clang!

Okay! I get frustrated with this almost everytime I hunt. I usually have my rangefinder, grunt tube, and maybe binos around my neck. While I'm trying to be as quiet as possible, these items decided to bang together making all kinds of noise! Does anyone else experience this or do you keep these elsewhere; pockets, hooks, fanny pack?

When using your rangefinder, if you can, get distances to some landmarks when first getting settled into your stand. Then you shouldn't need to have it around your neck.

Then the Primos Buck Roar I believe uses a strap and it attaches to your forearm (right forearm if you shoot right handed). This keeps it out of the way pretty well, but is there when you need it. I'm sure you could rig something up to function in a similar way, if you didn't want to buy one.

I don't know brand names off hand but there are bino straps that cinch tight to your chest/midsection area. Usually, I'm in a stand so I have a bow hanger I use and I keep them hung on that. I have a strap that is long enough to wear I don't need to take it off the bow hanger. However, I have also used pockets that attach onto the side of a treestand (a friend's) as well.

I use a fanny-pack when still-hunting but usually don't do that with a bow. I hunting the northeast so spot and stalks are not as common.

I carry all my essentials in a backpack. I use an EZ Hanger. More for holding my backpack for easy access than for holding my bow.

I do not have a range finder so that is not a problem.

I keep my binos in my turkey vest. Only have a grunt tube hanging from me.

I hate having stuff around my neck when I'm bow hunting...always afraid they will catch the string.

I use an EZ hanger to hold my backpack with that stuff in it.

I try to go as light as possible! I don't own a range finder and I quit caring the binos until about the third or forth week. Then Ill put them in one of the bags of my climber. With the Summit stand they give you a strap to cinch the two platforms together. I just make sure both bags are secured with that same strap, so they don't bounce around.

I keep everything in my fanny pack til i get in stand. Once there, I set my rangefinder in a little bag i used to hold my pull rope. It is very convenient there. I keep my grunt call on my EZ hanger. Dont use Binos. Usually keep the Can in my pocket.

i have one of the HS Strut turkey vest i use for deer hunting. it allows me to carry all my essential items in it. once im in the tree i simply hang it on a treestep hook within easy reach.

the HS Strut turkey vest is probably one f the best pieces of gear i have ever bought and it comes in Realtree camo also.

Same here during the early seasons. Later on in the year when I wear my parka when the weather cools down I stuff my pockets and leave the pack behind.

I carry everything in my fanny pack (not fanny, theres no room for that sort of thing in the deer woods:D), and then when Im at my hunting location, Ill range several distinctive landmarks, then hang the rangefinder on my ez hanger just in case I need it. My true talker goes around my neck occasionally, but I always tuck it under my bino's which are on a bino buddy system to keep them close to my chest. I either hang the fanny pack on a treestep, or my ladder (if Im using a portable with the ladder steps).

All my equipment goes in my Badlands pack. I use the RT EZ-hanger once i get in the stand to hold bow, rangefinder, grunt tube, horns etc. I also purchase the bino system binoculers straps that sinch the bino's tight to my chest. There are many different ways to hual and store your equipment into the woods and while stand hunting. Go by whatever you feel is most comfortable for you.

This Is What I Do, Range Finder In My RIGHT Cargo Pocket On Pants. Grunt Call Around Neck But Under My Shirt Or Jacket. When Its Needed Just Reach Under Shirt And Pull Up Until You Can Use Call Then Let It Go And It Goes Right Back Under Shirt And Out Of The Way. I Range Landmarks As Soon As Possible When Getting To Stand, Then Back In The Pocket They Go. For My Binos I Hang Them Up So I Can Reach Them When I Need To.

Leave that range finder at home or use it once u get in the stand and then shucker it away in a backpack lol..as for grunt tubes and binos...my tube is the only thing around my neck when im in the stand. If a deer is far away enuff to use binos on...he aint gonna see u reach into your pocket to get em out. I take a back pack with me with everything i could possibly need...from snacks to allen wrenches..i hang it on a limb or a tree step or whatever. No need to choke yourself while in the tree lol

my jacket has a nice little pocket on the left chest for a rangefinder. I dont carry binos, my rangefinder is magnified 6X so it pulls double duty unless Im in an open area or out west. Then Bino straps are a must.

Binocs on the bino systems, rangefinder - right front pocket and grunt tube around my forearm, Can call - left front pocket. I used to have the same problem with everything making noise but not anymore.
