I hunted all last week through Thursday evening. After that hunt I decided I was done until this week. Didn't think about going at all this weekend. Looks a big cool down is on the way though.

yea its kind a the hot weather, but its mostly the 12 hour shifts i have been working. thank goodness that i am back to straight 8s and its going to cool down this week also. good time to shoot a doe for sure.

I only hunted Saturday morning. Saw one small 6 pt. On the way out I noticed blaze orange across one of the fields I was hunting near. Then I remembered there was a youth gun hunt Sat and Sun. I didn't hunt the rest of the weekend, cause I didn't feel like pulling out the blaze orange already. I'll hit er again this week. Supposed to start cooling off in the next day or so. With any luck the weatherman will get this right.

I hunt in NY and the season hasn't started yet (not until the 13th). If bugs were a problem then I'd go out and buy a thermacell. I'd hunt water sources or beds under shaded cover, but regardless I'd be out there.

I know why many of you aren't going out though. It's just I've gotten a bunch of new equipment and I can't wait to use it in the field.

A 100 thermacells won't do you any good while your tracking and dragging deer back to your truck. Great tool for sure but ONLY when your sitting still.
