wesleycasey Posted October 8, 2007 Report Share Posted October 8, 2007 OK MODS.....I KNOW THIS SHOULD PROLLY BE IN THE PHOTO/VIDEO PART....BUT I THOUGHT MORE FOLKS WOULD SEE IT HERE AND IT WOULD BE A MORE USEFUL TOOL IN THIS LOCATION, CAUSE I BEEN READING AND LOTS OF FOLKS ARE UP FOR ANY TIPS OR NEW IDEAS ....AND WELL THIS IS MINE ....ITS VERY IMFORMATIVE AND IS WORTH A LOOK!!...BUT IF U MOVE IT I UNDERSTAND THANK YOU... i know theres a few of you on here that would like to see a good video on field dressing a deer and well if the rest are like me and are always open for more options then take a look at this video here. Its put on by kentucky afield which is a local hunting/outdoor show here in kentucky ......VERY IMFORMATIVE video, although different than what im used too i tried it and it has served me well....happy hunting guys i hope u enjoy!!!................ I remember a few years ago they had the how to process you meat and take it off the bone video on their site to watch for free, I guess you have to pay for it now. I learned all the cuts and how to have your deer deboned in like 20 minutes while it is still hanging there. I watched it like 5 times and took notes haha. buckee Posted October 9, 2007 Report Share Posted October 9, 2007 I work from the butt up, and tie off the butt with butchers chord first. You don't loose any pee from the bladder if you do it right. I cut the udder right out first too, instead of cutting through it like that. And there's no need to stick your whole hand in there whhen cutting up the belly. Two fingers is plenty. And also the way he cut the pee bag. If you just start from between her back legs and cut her open then pull the guts out slowly while cutting around, then when you have her hanging ready to skin, just slowly cut around the pee bag and it wont go all over the deer like that.
