Guest doublelung45
How many of you use real antlers for rattling? I like the sound of them but find them bulky and loud to pack and cary? Any luck with Rattle bags or Rattle Box's? And how do you keep your antlers in your stand. I have seen people carry them and hang them up when a deer comes or if they are not in use, I have seen people rattle using their feet, or hang them from a long string and let them set on the ground and lift the string to use them? Jorden
I agree with you that the sound of real antlers sounds a lot better but yes they are kind of clunky and troublesome to carry around. I use the rattle bag by Knight and Hale and have had moderate success with, rattled in a few small bucks but nothing even close to a shooter
Tominator
I've had more luck with my rattle bag than real antlers.
MUDRUNNER
I like the real thing.I have a few small 6 point racks from bucks I've shot over the years that I use.Never really had much luck around here with rattling though.
wildthing
I use the rattling horns made by Primos...rattled in a wall hanger last year with them during the rut...
wtnhunt
Have used both and seems that the real antlers and the bag have similar results here. Neither have produced any mature bucks coming in, but do seem to peak some interest in youngsters.
firefighter
I use real horns,,, found a dead 8 point couple of years ago, cut the rack off to use them for rattling,,,,,,,
ruttinbuc
they say if you want a 125 class deer to use 125" antlers. So I guess if you want a deer with dowels and wood blocks on his head you would use dowels and wood blocks.....
