hutchies
Check this out from the McAlester News.............45 points. The kid took a shot I wouldn't dream 67 yards. http://www.mcalesternews.com/sports/local_story_279191720.html
hoosierhunter
Well that is a pretty long shot...I know I wouldn't take it.
wtnhunt
Wow, good thing for him they did not call it quits when they bumped the big 10 point. Sounds like he was well practiced shooting to 70 yards in practice for several months prior. Would never take a shot that far either, but guess for him being confident in his ability and equipment, sounds like he was as ready for that shot as anyone could have been. Bowtech_archer07
I wouldn't take that shot either, but congrats to him on being practiced at that distance and ready for that type of shot. At least he didn't see the buck, and just lob an arrow at him risking a bad shot and wounding the buck. Congrats to him on an awesome buck and one heck of a shot!!!! MCH
I wouldn't be surprised if this boy drove a purple or blue Chevy S10. He looks like the boy that took off running towards Mike(Roadkill10) last year or the year before when we were hunting James Collins. I also wouldn't be surprised if this deer was killed at James Collins, either.
hutchies
Yeah, There are some big ones back in those hills.
beagleboy
That's an impressive buck. I practice out to 50 yds but I don't think I would take that shot even at 50 yds because of all of the obstacles that present themselves even when you think you have an open shot. arrow32
That is a huge buck!! What an amazing shot as well would never take it. I shoot out to that range a good bit but not willing to fling an arrow that far. Congrats to him!!
Guest Andrea
With a buck that big........I'm sure his thinking was: "If I don't at least try, someone else may get him". I would have definitely slung an arrow at that deer. No doubt about it.
TxBowHunter
Dang, at 60 yards he should be an olympic shooter!
lungbuster12point06
I practice out to 60 yards...........but would never be comfortable shooting at deer at that range unless everything was perfect.........and we all know how often perfect happens in the deer woods! Nice buck!
ccwhitey
Way to far for me. Ive slung a couple of arrows out to 50yds but would never take that shot at a deer.
Guest bowhuntr_15
That is a brute!! And a great shot!! I would never shoot a deer that far but if he really has been practicing out to 70 yrds then I guess he made the right decision. He IS holding it in his hands, lol!! Congrats to him!! Guest antlerhead
amazing deer, but a shot that long is what i would call unethical. yeah you can practice shooting at those ranges all day long. but we all have seen the videos about deer string jumping the arrows at 30 yards and even less, but at 67 yards... sounds like a lucky shot to me, one that i would not take. can you imagine wounding such a nice buck and never finding him?? but anyway, thats one he.. of a buck and congrats to him. BowJoe
Just remember Antlerhead, that one man's unethical is another man's normality. Please don't judge a man by your standards of hunting. It turns into a big argument and one that can be easily prevented. Your comfort level is not somebody else's and judging based solely on opinion is not a fair argument for you or anyone else. What about elk hunting and antelope hunting. I've seen shots taken at 80 yards on them and I didn't even flinch when the arrow hit. It's a matter of comfort and skill. He was the one pulling the trigger and only he has to live with the consequences of what he does with that deer. Who knows, maybe he's an ex-Marine and former sharp shooter. Maybe his skill exceeds that of anyone in the world. I doubt it but who knows. Just give credit where it's due but please don't say he's unethical. After all, he bought a tag, shot the deer legally and reported it and got credit for doing so in his local paper. Sounds completely ethical to me.
