Guest Don76
Good Taxidermist I just got my mount back from Wildlife Creations in Millbrook, NY. He did an excellent job. He is located on Route 82, south of the village of Millbrook. His prices were reasonable and very easy to deal with. The other guy I considered, was Zitz. I think he is in the Rhinebeck area. His prices were high, but you get the services of one of the best in the country from what I was told. The last guy I looked at was Seils in Salt Point. He was comparitively priced with Zitz, but he flat out told me he raised his prices to get less business. All that being said, my business will probably always go to Brian at Wildlife Creations. Good Luck. Don
RTF
Welcome to the forums Don76. I am familiar with the ares you talk about. I am surprised there are that many taxidermists in Dutchess county.
Adjam5
Welcome to the forums Don. I too know those areas, and am surprised that there are that many taxidermists in the area. For Skull work I'd recommend, http://www.skulptures.net/ Scott has done many skulls for me and I could not be happier with his work.
Guest Don76
Thanks for the welcome guys. I believe there are more, but the three I mentioned were the ones recommended to me. I only looked at them because I had heard of Zitz and Seils, and a buddy of mine had used Wildlife Creations for his bear, and it turned out great. Thanks again Don
HuntingInMaine
I don't know how far this woman is from you, but her talents are worth a drive, if necessary! Her name is Maggie and she is incredible. My other half and I went on a Lake Ontario fishing trip and she did a great job mounting a trout he got. We had a chance to check out her show room and it is jam packed with every species you could think of. She uses lots of different poses that you rarely see from other taxidermists. I only wish she lived closer, I would give her all my business! Here is a link to her website.... http://www.fishwishco.com/typesofmounts.html
RTF
She lives a way from Southern NY. It would be over 3 hours one way to get to her .
Adjam5
Here is another taxidermist that is in southern NY. Bethel,NY I will be using him to have my sons 1st buck mounted. www.nevestaxidermy.com It is a father and son operation that is a class act. We spent some time( like 1 1/2 hours) in his showroom and closely looked at all the mounts. I'm talkin' mounts from ALL OVER the world. Some impressive Roe buck and Chinese water bucks( they have fangs!), anyway...My son and I were impressed by the quality of the work. He will be getting the cape tomorrow. Either myself or my son Joe will post the finished product when we get it back.
