sureshot Posted October 10, 2007 Report Share Posted October 10, 2007 saterdya at abotu noon the deer wer enot moving so my buddy wanted a coyote with his musket, I grabbed the calls and we stopped at a ranchers farm and asked him if we can cull a coyote, guess his anser lol, we walked right from the yard prob 300 yards set up on a knoll and set him 200 yards downwind, after a invitation howl I had a responce, apup was yipping, I set the howler down and got my distress and let out a series,within 2 minutes ahd 2 trottign in only thing is they came right to me and not by him, he could fo had a 100 ayrd runnign shot, I tried barking but no luckm they came nearly in my lap, I did not have the ml so I stood up, thye were gone, we then wer eleaving and I seen a coyote mousing 400 yards off, we parked in a low spot walked up the ditch and I let out a 5 second distress sound, he was coming on a leash, I told the buddy to get around the hill,as he was creeping the coyote crossed the fence at 40 ayrds, I tried stopping with no luck,then I heard boom and seen smoke, when the smoke settled a coyote was kicking at 60 yards,mature male, hide was really nice to, a bit of black on the rumps and back but still ok, the 45 cal ball made a inch hole only, he si palnning on tanning it, first ML coyote! felt awsome to start calling again!
