Guest Ironhorse
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get a duck home in good shape after a weeklong hunting trip? Obviously, I mean a dead one. Thanks
coles
the only duck ive gotten mounted, i jsut put in the back of the truck and brought him to the taxidermist a couple hours later. but ive heard alot of guys use pantyhose or leggings kind of things. make sure you put them in head first though. it will keep the feathers next to the body nicely. RTF
Place him in a zip-lock bag and make sure it is sealed. Do this only after the bird has cooled. Keep him on ice at all times. Make sure he is on his back at all times. Pack him tight in ice and you should be ok. When you get home place duck in freezer ASAP until your ready to go to taxi shop.
