PotashRLS
It seems that nearly all the pictures I want to use in my posts exceed the size limits for posting. What is everyone else doing to post their pictures? Why can't a person just browse their picture files and insert them that way? Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through. Any advice? toddyboman
You need to resize them. If you host your pictures on photobucket then you can resize them there. Very easily. If you are loading them from your computer then you will need to use some software. The basic software everyone usually has that you can use it "Microsoft Paint." Open your picture in Paint. At the top you will see File...Edit....View...Image. Select Image. Then you have the option for stretch/skew select that. Now another box appears that will have vertical and horizontal percentages under the stretch section. Reduce both to 50%. Save your pic and then upload it. Hope that helps The reason for the resizing is so we can all view the pictures easily.
wtnhunt
Pictures sizes need to be limited for viewing on any site really. If the pics are too large not only do they take up excess server space, but they do not fit the screen. Some sites will automatically shrink your pics when you post them and the quality takes quite a hit. Have found that the best results I get for resizing is using the microsoft office picture manager program. Really simple if you have office on your machine. If not paint works too, depending on the size of the pic, you can follow Todd's advice and shrink it from 50 percent down to 30 percent.
