Guest bow_hunter101
I personally know of people who will stay the night when hunting, but it's been in elevated box blinds or tripods. I would stay the night in one of those or even a ground blind, but I'm not so sure about your average tree stand! Possibly a ladder stand with arm rests or something where you wouldn't fall out, after all I have been known to sleep in my tree stand before! lol

Buckslayer
I've fallen asleep a few times each season for more than just a minute. Usually it will be 5 minutes or so before I feel myself moving or falling, then I jump awake and laugh automatically even though its not funny I almost tipped over. I always wear my full body harness so hopefully it will hold me back if I ever need it.

Guest Andrea
Never have done that. Don't think I would either. I like to LAY DOWN when I sleep, not sit up. Besides, I'm only 3 minutes from my treestand where I live. No need to sleep up a tree. Seen some really nice elevated blinds I wouldn't mind camping in though. That would be fun. wtnhunt
Have been stuck up in stands plenty of times before, but have never slept or spent the night in any. Have probably nodded off a time or two too, but never for more than just a a few seconds, not enough to consider it sleeping anyways. Ravin R10 man
Got a buddy that took a sleeping bag and slept overnight for opening day rifle season..he hunted a swamp and accessed his stand from a river which he had to float down..dont blame him, Id rather get set up in daylight too, rather than make alot of noise going in early
Tetro
Our stands are mostly skids elevated about 10-13 feet, with 4 foot walls. If I tried sleeping in the stand it wouldn't be long and I'll have 10 hunters looking for me.
Guest realtrhunter
This thread gives me an idea that I have not thought of for hunting a new spot that I just found last week and haven't scouted to well, I don't want to bumb the 3 big boys out. I might tryy staying the night in my stand so I can set up in the day light and find a good tree while it is still light out.
murphy617
i fell asleep this morning in a lock on and had the s*** scared out of me when i suddenly woke up, scary!!!!! a box blind with a decent heater sounds comfy for the night:D!!!! pointing_dogs_rule
First thought... are you nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an avid whitetail hunter, however, no deer is worth an entire night in the treestand. The possibility of falling and the cold weather. Not even close to worth the risk. Good luck to all the dog
unioncountyslayer
Dad has a friend that will climb down and sleep at the base of the tree where his stand is. I'd rather get 6-7 hours of "good" sleep in my bed and have to get up an hour earlier to avoid the "boogie man" or little critters sneakin' up on me during the night. 98chevy
Yall are crazy. There is absolutly no way I would sllep in the cold out of a tree stand. Wheather it be a ladder or box stand. Now my old hunting truck was a jacked up suburban with a matress in the back. Also had a buddy heater. It worked out great. Yall are more dedicated then me.
