Newarcher
I had mine done about 8 years ago. I had lots of pain with mine. I suggest laying on the couch doing nothing for about 3 days. On the 2nd day I was hurting but bored. So I loaded the cooler up & the boat. Big mistake. One of them swelled up like a softball. I was in major pain for a couple weeks. The procedure itself isn't bad, the shot in the tube was the worse part. Just take it easy for a few days afterwards or you will pay for it. Yep, that is the curse of the hard headed male in us all. The absolute best thing you can do is to have it done on a Friday morning and then not move off the couch with ice on the boys until sometime Monday. Then no heavy lifting and nothing that will result in any swaying of any kind. No joke. You will feel better. You will think "I don't have to lay here with ice on the boys". You will get up and do some work, have some fun, get into the devil's business. Then you will feel like an elephant stepped on you. If you follow my advice, you will be absolutely fine. I think that most cases of the PVP (post pain) are a result of those who did too much too early and damaged the goods. Nothing to it...don't chicken out next time. Ohiobucks
I'm fixed, not a huge deal at all. More anxiety than anything. They gave me a pill "to take the edge off" as soon as I got there that morning. It did nothing to me what-so-ever. I told the doc that I wasn't feeling any different, the "edge" was very much present. The first shot was pretty painless, then he went to the other side to give another shot. This one hurt....bad. REAL BAD. Felt like what I imagine a needle the size of a yard-jart would feel like. 30 minutes later, we were done. He showed me my 2 clippings in a jar, looked like 1/4" earthworms. No problems since.
colescott1
Had mine done 2 years ago. Funniest part of the story... I go in for the pre-op so the urologist can see what he's dealing with. He comes in, shuts the door, and tells me to drop the pants. No sooner does he start his "inspection", then my cell phone starts ringing, hooked to my belt on my pants that are now around my ankles. He looks up and says.."wanna get that?". So I do....and its my wife. I was like.. "Um..honey...nows not the best time to talk." She asks how the appt went, and I had to tell her that, well...it was directly underway. Anyway.. I'll give a different approach to the surgery.... I guess my tubes were a little challenging...so I was put completely under. Woke up feeling fine. Main issue...as said above.. DO NOT DO ANYTHING for a couple days. All the horror stories the doctor told me had to do with people who felt great and lifted, exerted, worked, etc too soon. Now, I did get a little "sore" after a day or two, and wearing jeans was a little uncomfortable for about a week. But other than that.....no issues. You'll have to go back and submit a "sample" about 6 months after your surgery to ensure it worked. When the nurse called with results, she said... "you're free and clear...have fun!". TreeStandBowHunter
I had my consult this morning. The doc didn't want to schedule my operation yet because he needs to see my wife and I together (Some DOD regulations I guess now). I told him who the heck do you think put me up to this crap:D. So my wife and I have to go in Wednesday and I should get a procedure date then:eek:
