muggs
Of the 4 remaining MLB playoff teams, 3 have some of the lowest total team salaries in the "Bigs." And if you consider the Padres, the playoffs featured 5 of the lowest. Rockies $54,424,000 Diamondbacks $52,067,546 Indians $64,289,667 Other playoff notables: Spankees $207,039,045 Red Sox $145,223,714 LA Angels $109,251,333 Padres $58,110,567 I guess signing washed up free agent to huge, long term deals isn't the way to go. Imagine if the Yankees invested half of that money into their own farm system. They could still run out a $100+ million dollar team and have the prospects to go along with it. buckbuster11
Well they aren't thee lowest. The Pirates are the lowest but, yeah the Pads, Dbacks, Rocks, and Indians are the next in line. One of the local Pittsburgh shows was talking about this this morning. Goes to show you, the farm system is where it's at in baseball. Can't buy a championship. Look at the Yanks, even when the were winning their World Series' they had guys that came up through their system that played huge parts in them winning. Now, their farm system is crap and look at em. Can't get out of the first round.
