Tetro
I've seen them on soem hunting shows, and now their available locally. Does any members uses the blood tracking kits, with the blue light to spot blood in the evening. Kind of like something you might see on CSI. They're selling the kit for 56$, not sure itf its a resonable price, the product here is made bu Gerber.
wtnhunt
Had the gerber blood tracking light in my wish list at cabelas last year when it came out, but was not sure if I really wanted it, and probably would not have bought it for myself. Long story short, the wife got it for me, but I never got an opportunity last year to see how well it works. I do have trouble seeing colors when it is dim, figure if it works as claimed and helps me to find just one deer then it was worth it. LifeNRA
Lets just say at the Hamburg Cabela's store last year, there were a ton of them for sale. I asked the lady why so many back here, she said they were all returns! That was enough for me! William, if you ever do use that let us know please! I still have thoughts about them. Hoyt03
the way i figure, if there is blood on the ground my naked eye is going to see it. That thing isn't going to magically pick up a blood trail that isn't there.
Wimpy
I don't think they work all that great.
wtnhunt
William, if you ever do use that let us know please! I still have thoughts about them. Will do John. Dont really like night time tracking jobs, but maybe this year we will get to use this light. Will give a review on it if we do.
IllinoisHunter
Remington makes a red/blue light combo that I bought for 15 bucks, and I was actually impressed. I had no trouble locating the blood with normal lights, however, the blood actually looks red, instead of just spotty in the dark. Well worth the 15 dollars. RangerClay
I've never night tracked but at my bowhunter safety course they said to use a Coleman Lantern. They told us it makes the blood really stand out.

spineshot
blood hunter Not sure about the one you are talking about from gerber but i bought the primo bloodhunter and i think it works great. It has a red light, green light, and mixed light. The red light makes blood shine a little more. The reason i got it was because i am color blind so finding blood is almost impossible. The green light turns blood black and it shows up great to my eyes. It has me find a deer already this year. Well worth the $45 i paid on Ebay. jcs3344
no need for this kind of stuff. Get out there and learn and take your time when tracking deer. Learn what deer do when they are hurt and where they wanna go. when hit deer with usually take the path of least resistance and usually take a deer trail. Most deer also go down hill, best thing to do is take your time and work slow.

SRTMO
On some sites, the Gerber light is great and on others it's a paper weight. Once I learned tracking, I picked it up right away so it's never been a problem for me but, hydrogen peroxide in a squirt bottle on a mist setting works. I keep 2 big bottles in the truck just in case. I read it in a mag long ago and tried it on my next track. It worked. If your going to do something light CSI, buy yourself: http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=LE822&cat=2828 and http://www.galls.com/style.html?assort=general_catalog&style=LE823&cat=2828 They will work much better. Trust Me!
