Guest philipwhittaker
Anyone local to Wisconsin have any tips, ideas as the approximate date to start using the grunt/snort weeze calls, aswell as the rattlin' antlers to lure big bucks? I have seen many scrapes allready as of Oct 7th good time to use those mock-scrapes? are they effective? Wait bait's have you had luck with while using your cam's? I have hadtons of luckwith corn and apple scent. I bag about 330 shots every 3 days, with my 1 camera set to 2 shots per min. I gotten pics of over 10 different bucks since the beginning of Oct. Dogg6
I've been using grunt calls for the last 2 weeks with some success. Rattling works well anytime, it's just a matter of haw hard you are rattling. Right now I've seen the pre-rut activity get started. I would start rattling a little harder now but not too violent/aggressive yet. I'd wait a week or 2 yet with the mock scrapes. In my experience I've had better luck with mocks in early to mid November. But trying now won't hurt anything. I don't personally do much with baits, since a lot of my stands are over crop fields. Hope this helps and best of luck.
wtnhunt
Have most of my cams on trails. Have one set at a mineral site and it gets pretty good activity. The trophy rock or deer cane are good mineral attractants to use to establish a mineral site with.
