Hillbilly
I have been trying to figure out why I couldn't group any more arrows. I found out last night that my father was also shooting my bow and he couldnt group a darn thing so he moved my pins and my sight... I cannot get a group in the target. So I moved the sights and moved the pins...still cannot shoot...maybe I need to quit shooting or just get a new bow that fits me. I also found out a week ago that im more of a 28 3/4 draw length and not a 29". I haven't grouped a nice set of arrows for over a year. Maybe I need a new bow....I just know I won't go hunting this fall with my inconsitentcy shooting. Don't want to injure a deer....and not find it. shockwave
what make bow is it ?? Does it have cams ?? If it does check to see if their in time.. did you change your drawlength ?? If so you might not have twisted your string equally..
whttlbucksteve
Try paper tunning the bow

LifeNRA
Try paper tunning the bow Yeah do the whole nine yards!!! Center shot, cams, paper tune, etc. Make sure your sight is tight and nothing is loose too! I was having problems a few years ago with the same thing! Then when I was out shooting the entire sight housing just fell to the ground! The main piece of aluminum just broke! They made a different bracket that holds it now and been great since! Maybe your kisser button or peep fits your dad and not you !!
Hillbilly
I might have grown out of this bow. Recently I found out that I have probably a 28" 3/4 draw length. So I might be shooting a bow that doesn't fit me much anymore.

Guest Finn
Take it to a good pro shop and ask them to watch you shoot...I'd expect they will have you shooting well in 1 visit.
Guest bow_hunter101
I've been reading this thread, but haven't commented on it yet. I pretty much agree with what everyone has said, it could be about anything. You should get everything adjusted, paper tune it, and if your still having problems it could be something with the way your shooting. A good pro shop should be able to help with any of these problems.
Tony
I might have grown out of this bow. Recently I found out that I have probably a 28" 3/4 draw length. So I might be shooting a bow that doesn't fit me much anymore. for most guys a 1/4 inch off is pretty close. you might be able to add a couple of twists to the string to get it down a 1/4 inch. i know on my hoyts i can add or take away twists to get my draw length dead on. its all about comfort and fit, if you just dont feel comfortable with it, then you wont shoot it with confidence. you might need a new bow. if your a 28 3/4 inch draw like you say, then your going to have to twist the string on any bow to get it to fit. wildthing
First off...it the problem you and your overall form or the bow and its accessories and mechanics? Figure that out and go from there. If your dad shoots the bow well, the problem is probably you and not the bow for the most part.
dbHunterNY
Don't worry so much... You're killing the fun. Take the bow to a shop and you'll get results a lot quicker. Then just talk with them to see what was wrong (if anything was wrong). However, it sounds like you're pretty frustrated too and that I know can't be helping your confidence. Try thinking about basics in form and do the above and this issue should go away. I've shot bows for a few years now and I've realized I can't pick it all up right away. Don't get discouraged and quit though. Archery can be a ton of fun, even if you can't shoot tighter groups than the person next to you (at that point in time). Don't quit, Dan
Hillbilly
been shooting this bow for over 8 years.
txsbuda
I think you've convinced yourself that you need a new bow. Just go for it and shoot well. It's all about confidence. You don't want to be in a situation where you think you might not get a good shot on an animal, then you end up with a not so clean shot and you'll be kicking yourself for losing it. Good luck!
