I was going to make a mock scrape and then put a scent dripper out on it when my dad said that my cousin tried something new called "deer dirt." He said that he tried it out on a area that he doesn't hunt at first and apperently the bucks love it. I have no clue what this is or where to get it, so can you guys help?

Ya don't need to buy anything to make an effective mock scrape. I wasn't a believer, but tried this on Wednesday of this week, just to finally see for myself. Found a scrape, and used a nearby hunk of wood to re-scrape it. Pee'd in it, and walked away. Came back yesterday, and a buck had already made another scrape right beside the existing...tore it up!

Now, hopefully in the next week, I'll be able to report on what size buck I frustrated, but save your dollar and relieve yourself! It works!

Urinating in an existing scrape or mock scrape will certainly get the attention of a buck that is in the area. Use that tactic here year after year and it does indeed work.

I have urinated in many scrapes. Yes I believe it works. Deer cannot distinguish between human or deer urine. The buck just knows it isn't his & is a intruders. As far as the dirt you are talking about, Farm & home in our area used to carry it. I see you are from central Illinois so assuming you might have a Farm & Home nearby, if not Big R is about the same if you have one of them.
