Thankyou Lord for blessing me with a deer!

Tonight, I tagged my 8th archery deer in 7 years of bowhunting. Here's the story.

Last night Andy moved a climber to this tree by a scrape, same tree, same scrape area where I got my archery buck last year, same way, the night after he moved the climber to that spot. So I get up in about 4:30pm and settle down. Wind is good, light, just a nice evening. I'm about 60 -70 yards in the woods from a cut corn field. About quarter to 6pm I catch through the leaves a deer entering the woods behind me a ways from the corn field. Nothing came through. I sat there, praying, telling Him that whatever deer comes along, I'll shoot because it is the deer he wants to bless me with. Around quarter after 6pm, I finally hear from my right the leaves crunching. I look over and see a deer, a buck, walking straight towards along the side of the small ridge I'm on (the scrape behind me in the logging trail about 15yds. away and another scrape and rub to my left about 10 yards. I stand up and get ready. I have a cherry tree to my right, I move to the right side of it because I think he's gonna come there, but then he keeps walking so I move back to the left. He stops at a small hemlock about 20 yards out to make a small scrape real quick, no shooting lane, he then moves down in front of me. I draw my bow....he steps into a clearing, 10 yards, I put my top pin on him and press the trigger on my release. THWACK! He tales off up the hill! I have that feeling it's a good shot. I hear him stop, then next thing I know he comes barreling down the hill, straight towards me then past me, onto the logging trail and out into the corn field! He stops and spins around several times, then I can barely see him through the tree leaves. I know he's there....then I here a light crash in the leaves or corn. I know he's in the field or in the goldenrod on the edge. I climb down in the climber, was about 15ft up which is high for me but where Andy told me he put it up to. I look for my arrow...where the heck is it. I spend like 10 minutes looking for it then find it 15 yards from the stand where he ran up the hill...coated in blood.

I stick it in the quiver and start following the trail where he ran back past me to the field, blood splattered all over. Before I had climbed down, I had called home on the radio and Andy answred so he was on his way. I'm almost to the field and hear his car driving up the edge, then I get to the edge and see a white belly! There's my beautiful buck, about 60-70 yards from my stand, dead. Thank you Lord, thankyou! And we didn't even have to drag him.:p

Ok, back to writing my paper since it's back to school. Hope you enjoy:D
