jtacres
Do what works for ya. I've had deer bust me from 75 yards after spraying down and wearing everything I own to eliminate odor. I've had deer walk directly under me while on the cell phone, smoking a cigarette in a pair of heavy $30 coveralls, (seriously). My guess is that some of the same type stuff has happened to everyone that sits in a tree stand. I'm a firm believer that stand height and wind direction have more to do with being busted than five or six hundred dollars worth of carbon, charcoal, sprays, non scent toothpaste or anything else you can spend money on. If you get lucky enough to put your stand on the downwind side of the deer, 15 feet high and see deer, you'll enjoy the hunt. Everyone says "place" your stand on the "downwind" side.... How exactly does anyone know in advance which direction a deer is coming from... I do understand "most likely", but then they turn right around and tell you to put out "doe or buck scent". don't that stuff end up going "downwind", exactly where "your" scent is going? We are making a great day in the woods way too complicated.

Any suggestions or different point of view?

johnf
We have a partner in the industry that needs your help. They are doing some research on scent control and want to know what you (the hunter) thinks about it, knows about it, and what your experience with it is. If you could briefly reply with answers to the following questions below, we would appreciate it greatly. And please feel free to add additional comments or thoughts. Thanks, S (Just place the number before each answer) 1) What brand of scent control apparel are you familiar with? - ScentLok - NoTrace - VisaEndurance - X-Static - ScentBlocker 2) What is the brand of scent control garment that you have purchased within the last year? - ScentLok - NoTrace - VisaEndurance - X-Static - ScentBlocker 3) What was the main reason for your selection of this brand? - Brand name - Price - Scent Control Performance - Recommendation of a friend or salesperson - Garment styling or features other than scent control 4) What type of odor control are you most interested in? - Antimicrobial - Adsorption - Don't Care After hundreds of dollars and years of blowing money on that I've decided that it's all crap and a waste of my money. I still get busted with it just as often as with cotton military camo on. I wash my clothes in baking soda and water, bathe in scent free soap use fresh earth scent when I get out of my truck and when I get to the stand. I spend $10 a year on scent control now and when the season is left over my wife has extra baking soda for the baking.

Scentlok and scent blocker 2.scent blocker/ dream team pack 3.price scent performance and recommendation 4.antimicrobial and adsorption And I'm going to also add that I agree with John.... I have been using the baking soda trick as well and I have taken at least two deer every year I buy tags.... My uncle taught me this trick years ago.... Also I use film canisters with a rag strip hanging out of the bottom as a scent tag to cover up whatever odor I missed
