LV2HNT
Whats everyone's opinions on trail cameras spooking deer. Do you think harms your hunting spot if you place a trail camera in the area that might spook the deer. I have seen trail cameras and video monitors with no flash but they are very expensive. I have heard from videos that people think it spooks deer. Just wondering what you guys think!
Guest bow_hunter101
Alot of trail cams have infrared and auto flash so the flash only triggers when it's pretty dark. At least from my experience, I don't think it affects the deer much at all. I think they pretty much ignore them. I still don't like using them by my stands, but I'll set them up on trails heading to my stands.
wtnhunt
Have watched deer at cams, have seen the reaction to the flash and my opinion is that they are not too bothered by it. Couple years ago got tons of pics of a couple mature bucks at our mineral site coming back to the camera and the flash did not seem to bother them at all. Same here.I'v seen the my camera take a deers pictures a few times right at dark and the flash doesn't seem to bother them a bit.I have noticed it spook them a little when I have it set to take 2 or 3 consecutive pics,so now I just keep it set to take one. natethebowhunter
i've had a lot of pics of the same deer on the same night and they stuck around so i assume the flash doesn't bother them too much
BearClaw
Same for me. I've had lots of pictures night after night and they keep coming back. Must not bother them too much.
arrow32
Have never saw a deer be bothered by the flash from my cam. They keep coming back so it can't be bothering them that much.
toddyboman
depends on the deer. Some I think it does bother some it does not. Each deer react to things differently :)
