Muzzleloader sight in Delimma

howdy yall, my bro and i each recently purchased a T/C Encore 209x50 magnum muzzleloaders and topped them with 3-9x40 Leupold muzzleloader scopes.

our delimma: we just bore sighted them and apparently our mounts are too low because when we peer threw the scope our elevation hair is still ~6inches high and that is with the adjustment setting at the max.

our desired sight in goal is to be dead on @ 200yds.

do we need taller scope rings? or is there something else we can do?

any and all input is welcome

What you did didn't seem to work, so try this.

Pull out your breach plug.

Open your gun up and set it on a bench or sandbags or something else so that it is fully open and secure.

Set a target up around 75-100 yards.

Look down the bore(inside) and center the target.

Move the scope so that it is as close what you see in the barrel as possible.

I did this with my 25-06 and was only 2" off center and had it sighted in after only 5 shots.

Hope that helps
