LOL, wasnt qualifying rained out??? Thats the last I heard.....But I also heard the #24 was fastest in practice. So that would make him the pole sitter for Sunday since he was first in points.

You know Luke, with all this toyota talk, I'm beginning to like Jeff Gordon more and more ever week since hes putting his Chevy up front week after week.:D

Nope Nick they ran the qualifying session...;)

Gordon, whose lap of 19.938 seconds at 94.974 mph knocked fellow Chaser Martin Truex Jr. off the pole, is the acknowledged master of Martinsville, having won seven times in 29 starts.

That's a lot of grandfather clocks, which the speedway presents to the winner.

In 10 more races, he's come home in the top five, and he's been in the top 10 a whopping 23 times. Gordon now has six poles, and has led 2,298 laps (that's 1,400 fewer than all-time leader Cale Yarborough). His average finish is a miniscule 7.3, second among Chasers.

Perhaps the most important stat of all for Gordon at Martinsville is the number of DNFs he has: 0.

All this means doo-daa if he doesn't do well ...;)

Nick we both have a lot in common. We're both GM workers and follow Gibbs racing (Stewart). Now look what Toyota has done. paid BIG BUCKS!!! to buy up one of Nascar premier teams. I'm still pulling for Tony this year, I'd like to see him win one more championship in a Chevy. It may be his last.:D

The scary part is I'm beginning to feel like you. Gordon is looking better to me every week too. Worse yet I'm beginning to feel like my Mother. After a race I'd get a call from my mother and she'd say "Guess who won the race today".

Just when I thought life was getting good I qualify for my senior citzens discount at Dunkin Donuts this year.:D

Then I hear Stewart is driving a Toyota next year, I'm beginning to watch and root for Gordon a little and I might have to admit my mother may be right again.

Well you know how it goes you can't win them all. Montreals winning goal was a garbage goal and you know every team gets one now and then. Miller didn't have much of chance when the puck came off the back boards and Lydman tried to deflect the puck away from the net with his foot. Unfortunately it careened of of Miller and in the net. A loss none the less but it was an entertaining game. Its a long season and we have to play the Canadiens I believe seven more times lets see the scorecard at the end of the series.

As far as Gordons 5th championship its not over yet, but it sure looks like his chances are getting better with every race.
