Whens my turn?

i see all these hunting shows all the time and all these guys see deer almost everytime when there in the woods...and then i get on here and alot of you guys seem to see ALOT of deer and throughout my life time ive hunted probably 15 different farms and u know there were WAAAY more times than not that i was in the woods and seen NOTHING!! and throughout my life ive managed to kill 5 with only 2 being bucks...my first was a lil basket racked 8 pointer with an inside spread of about 8 inches lol and the other was a button buck and ive seen big bucks in some places i hunt jus havent been able to luck up on gettin a good shot on one ....sure i coulda took many chances and maybe have gotten by with taking a shot that i wasnt 100% sure about but i couldnt bring myself to taking a shot not knowing i was 100% confident that i was placing a good shot on that animal u know im not tree hugger but im a firm believer i owe it to that animal to place a good humane shot on him.....but i jus havent had to chance at some of these MONSTERS some of you are shooting so first off i want to congratulate you and jus and hangin in there till i get my chance!! wouldnt give it up for the world hunting and being in the woods is my time to jus RELAX and kinda let everything else go and jus watch the way things were b4 all the buildings and planes and trains..........but all in all congrats to all u taking the good ones....jus save me one to hang on my wall so i have something to admire throughout the summer days when we arent in the woods

I hunted 5 times this year, been skunked 3 of the 5 times ;)

TV shows don't air 95% of the time they spend in the woods....no one would watch all the time they spend in a tree with no deer in front of them.

hey man you should check into the rules and regulations in your state and see if you can bait deer. In Ohio you're allowed to and i throw out a hundred pounds of corn whenever my deer need it. if you are allowed in your state that should work becuase i know i see a whole heck of a lot of deer in my corn pile.

We all have slow days, they just make you appreciate the times when you do see a lot of deer more. The other advice a can give is to study your hunting land - scouting, aerials and find the travel corridors and don't forget to hunt the wind. But for me, it's been a successful hunt as soon as I'm in the field, just being out there soaking it in is reason enough to keep coming back.
