dartonman
The harder the wind, the deeper I go into the woods...I don't care for anything over 30 in an open woods.....I 'll go deep, thats where I find most of my potential brown targets....al
Turkeygirl
I moved this into the Deer Hunting forum....more appropriate here. I'll hunt no matter what the wind, though if it's too windy, I won't hunt a stand that is high up, sways too much. I find it's hard to hunt though...deer are more skittish. MN BuckKiller
Yeah i dont prefer alot of wind i dont think any bow hunter does but if it is windy all day deer tend to move right before dark. Maybe try a stand that you havent hunted for awhile the deer have they're pattern down and are less skittish. The buck in my pic it was windy all day he came out about 15 minutes left of shooting the wind went down and i stuck him so you never know... Good luck hunting
BearClaw
I hunted today (muzzleloader-early season in MD) in some pretty good wind (AM &PM). Tree limbs were crashing! Didn't see a deer at all. Right before quittting time the wind stopped but still didn't see anything. My buddy saw some deer but I suspect the wind had something to do with it. They can't see danger nor smell it so I think they were going to wait until the wind died down and feed tonight. Pretty good moon out there tonight. Just my opinion.
