This was not meant for you to critize the teaching of the baptist doctorine, which you have done. I did not critisize your churh, and I appriciate your comments and clarifications, but this is not an appologetic discussion it's informative. I will not debate you or justify my doctorine, as I didn't ask you to.

If you believe that you must do all of those things right for salvation then you will fail. We all fail every day.

Rhyne16 I think TF's "Clerifications" are exactly what you should expect from most good Church of Christ members.

TF says, Maybe after you are taught the Truth here you can teach your Friend.

Once again, TF thinks of himself as God's messiah to the Realtree discussion boards. He implies that the truth cannot be found at rhine16's church. It certainly cannot be found at my church or johnf's or buckee's. After all we are cursed denominationalists. But the truth can be learned here by reading TF's groundbreaking and inspired posts.

Well i'm not here to down anybody or anybody's denomination. I'm gonna believe what i believe unless someone else can show me otherwise. I dont expect anyone else to change either.

However, i can say that i think you have it right johnf. I know my friend said a few weeks ago "I wish you and your family would go to church with me, because i believe i'm learning the right thing."

(Oh, too be 18 again! Good to see you here and thanks for your post)

Turkey fife, I'm not sure if you were trying to be smart or whether you were just saying you wish you were back in your youth. The only reason i said my age was to let you know i'm young.

I have been here for a year or so, and you'll find a number of guys my age on here that post a good bit. It is nice to have a place to come in and gain some hunting knowledge and also knowledge about life.

(Not Baptism ONLY, One must, Believe/Have Faith, Repent, Confess, and be Baptized for the Forgivness of our Sins)

If i'm not bad wrong, this is what Church of Christ calls the Plan of Salvation.

Tf, We(baptist) may not call it the plan of salvation, nor designate a certain process, but it is kind of evident that all of that is part of the process. I think it's the same for many denominations. Methodist being one for sure.

Turkey fife, I'm not sure if you were trying to be smart or whether you were just saying you wish you were back in your youth. The Last One! I am 60 years old, anyone who would not want to be 18 Has got to be 16:D The only reason i said my age was to let you know i'm young. I respect that it's the Oposite for me;)

I have been here for a year or so, and you'll find a number of guys my age on here that post a good bit. That's Cool! It is nice to have a place to come in and gain some hunting knowledge I agree! and also knowledge about life. You are Wise behon 18, Please don't believe anything I say if it is not backed by The Word of God/Bible is that Fair?

I also agree with the Poster who said Satan can quote more scripture than all of us. However WE must Rightly Divide the Scriptures and Study to show ourselves Approved before God a Workman that will not be ashamed.

Do all of you agree with that statement?

You just turned the meaning of Grace upside down fife. Grace is a gift, not a reward. I Agree!

We are saved by grace, I agree again, but you can fall from it! Refuse it! "unto" better works. I need a Scripture for this that I have underlined(Grace first, work later) We "work" or produce fruit, because we believe and are saved, not "for" our salvation.Hmmm O.K.

Our good works are like filthy rags to the Lord.I agree! We are covered by his righteousness, through faith, and by his Grace, through his blood, not our own righteousness.I need Scriptures again Please There is not a righteous cell in my body aside from Christ in me.O.K. We are clothed in his righteousness, not our own.Agree!

If I do any good works in the name of the Lord, it is because I am saved by his precious grace (With this I disagree and here is why)...Matt. 7:[21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

[22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? This was in His Name and they were not saved, and did many wonderful Works. Agree?

[23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

, not to build brownee points.:eek:

Thanks for your Response:)

I do not want to speak out of line for Steve (Buckee) but I believe he was quoting Ephesians 2: 8-10 when he mentioned "We are saved by grace, unto better works."

Scripture says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God"

"Not of works, lest any man should boast"

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them"

He's always thought it was so wierd that we didnt have the Lord's Supper every week.Do you give every week?

I've also heard something along the lines of if you didnt go to church the last time the doors opened and you died before they did again, that you were going to ****. What if you were in a Car Wreck? or Helped Save someone's Life? Or having a Baby? That just don't sound right! What you said makes that clear. ???What was that?

I'm not sure if it is a works based salvation, but from what i can understand, you can lose your salvation. Yes, the Bible is very Clear on that.

(I would also like to say I'm not saying anything against the Church of Christ denomination)Why would Christ's church be a Denomination?

Denomination....Means a Part of the Whole. Money being the Whole and a Penny, Nickle, Dime!

Christ's church is the Whole their are no Penny churches, Nickle churches, Dime churches, Christ is not Divided, He is the Head of THE church. Col. 1:18.
