dodge4x4
i have a really stupid question for all y'all illinois bowhunters, or out-a-staters if you know it too. where on EARTH can you get bow tags at in illinois? i haven't bow hunted in over a year, and we used to be able to get 'em at Walmart and Ace hardware all the time, and the idiot worker at walmart yesterday said walmart never has sold bow tags. i know this isn't true, so i'd guess he's just stupid and didn't know. thanks for the help!!! greg
beagleboy
Can you get them at town hall? We can get them at sporting goods stores, walmart and town halls. Give it a try.
dodge4x4
i have no clue. i wouldn't have thought it would of changed that much over the course of one year. i checked IDNR's website and it said at local liscensed outfitters. . .but this idiot was trying to tell me i had to apply for a bow tag back in the spring, and that there were "late tags" available now but he didn't know where but he thought they were expensive. i know ya buy em over the counter, i just cant figure out where. haha. slaw
as residents, we buy them over the counter at walmart, and other places thet sell liscences and stuff. go to Illinois DNR website.
IllinoisHunter
I think the Wal-mart guy you talked to was confused, possibly with shotgun tags. Last year DNR set all their vendors up on the same software/hardware, where you give them your license and they will input your number, name, etc. and it will automatically print your tags. I would try Dick's Sporting Goods, K-mart, or even a different Wal-mart.
rad_112176
I would say the guy thought you were trying to buy a out of state tag. You can buy your tag at any wal-mart. You probably got the guy that snuck out of the clothing department and thought he would work the sporting goods department instead. LOL. Stinger-Hunter
get em online. Illinois has a decent system. You have to find out if you print out the license or must wait for them to send to you in the mail. They have a fed-ex option, but it costs about $
xOZx
Any authorized license vendor should be able to sell them to you.
MUDRUNNER
I've bought my permits from Wally world the past few years and every time it seems like it's a fiasco. They either don't want to help you or don't know how to and you end up spending an hour back there in Sporting goods.Next year I'm going to find some place else to get them at. LLBUX
Jacksonville, Beardstown or Pittsfield Walmart will take care of your needs. They are close to your hunting area. The Army Surplus store in South Jacksonville also handles tags. Good luck! LLBUX
