dbHunterNY
Congrats! I'm still awaiting my first deer taken with a bow. I went to my parents house this past weekend and I had opportunities at does and spikes but I'm choosing to hold off on a bigger deer. I just hope I have the same luck you did. Great buck. -Dan
Squirrelhunter91
Thanks so much everyone.. now I'm pretty much done for bow season, unless I go out and shoot another doe. But I think if I shoot another doe, I'll do it after the rut, this way it really will be a management decision. But I'm also going to donate the doe to the Venison Donation program. Why not? I have two deer in the freezer already this year. dbhunterNY.. as much as I'd love to see you with a big buck, don't pass up on the does and spikes. I made that mistake last year, always waiting for something bigger and I went without a deer last year. Fill your antlerless tags first this way, your nerves are calmed ( to an extent ) when the big boy steps out. I was fortunate enough to shoot this 8 for my first buck. But like I said in the story, I was getting ready to shoot a spike. I was just in the right place at the right time. Good luck! Also, good luck to everyone else who makes it out this season!!!
