Guest UTZ28
I was curious if there has been any scrape or rubbing activity around the west central part of the state. Has any one seen any bucks chasing yet?

IllinoisHunter
Not much going on yet. Really, really quiet on the buck front. Have managed to bag two does in that area, but only seen 2-3 small racks. West-central, IL, did you pull some tags for the public ground near Chandlerville, IL? toddyboman
Well Im not in Ill but I am in NE Missouri about an hour from the Pike County area. Here in NE MO i have saw small bucks chasing does, lots of rubs, and bigger bucks working scrapes. Is it the full blown rut...NO WAY but things are starting to get fun. With this cooler weather coming in this week things should start to get better

MUDRUNNER
I hunt about an hour east of STL and am not seeing or hearing about much yet.Seen a few small scrapes, but they probably don't mean much yet.Weather has been mid 80's which has things slowed down some too.I have heard about some younger bucks sparring a little so that's a good sign.I think were stiil a week or two away from the good pre rut stuff here.I plan on hitting it pretty hard after Holloween. rad_112176
This weekend showed that the bucks are getting ready for the rut. I seen 9 different bucks traveling down wind of a field that has heavy doe traffic and seen most of the smaller bucks trying to scent check the does themselves in the field. I had a nice 10 pointer run off chasing a 8 pointer that was following a single doe. I am going to take a day off this weekend and hunt hard for 3 days. I think we are only a couple of weeks away from the rut if they keep up like this.

Mach1
Little to no buck movement so far in my hunting area. Haven't seen any scrapes and just a few rubs.
YJsmitty
I'm down in southern Illinois (Franklin County) I've seen some small bucks nothing big moving. I haven't seen any chasing but I have seen some small scraps on the edge of the fields but thats it. I think after this week the rut is really going to pick up and just my luck the only day I will get to hunt is Sunday.
Bowtech_archer07
I'm in Central IL, and i've seen little bucks chasing a little. I have yet to see anything older than 1.5 yr. olds and they are always think it's rut. I think next weekend, prerut will start up and the bigger deer will get on their feet with the cooler and changing weather. I have seen a couple of scrapes as well.
