I live in butler county and have been hunting Riley for 11 years. My prediction this year is going to be the week of november 5th will be good pre rut action. I'm off the 8th and the 9th. According to deer and deer hunting peek breek will be around the 16th this year. Where do you hunt and have you ever heard of summit archery. I used to work there. Good luck!!!

Ohio Rut/Marietta area

Made scrapes 2 sundays ago around 8 stands, didn't see one sign of scrapes, rubs, just some tracks, droppings around the salt licks, by Wednesday, there was scrapes very close to us....dry summer and late fall will bring it quick with a change of weather. Haven't seen seeking, chasing yet, just the first signs of scrapes. Good luck fellows.

20 miles west of Cincy is Indiana, isn't it? :D

I have yet to see the first buck while hunting this year. Sunday I saw two little guys in my field, one was a fork, the other was an 8.

I haven't seen any chasing or dead bucks on the road yet.

yeah man i might have got the mileage off a little bit i live in the cleves addyston area. but my buddy said he seen a chase and i have seen a lot of bucks the past three days. two days ago i seen to small bucks and i passed and today i seen i guess you would call it a non typical one side was pointing up like it is supposed to be and the other pointing towards the ground i had a 50 yard shot and i've that's my limit i've been practicing that shot but i just didnt want to wound a big deer so ill try it tomorrow and see what happens thanks for the answers guys cya

I hunt Washington and Guernsey Counties. Man I think the rut is starting to kick in. My buddy shot an button buck thinking it was a doe on Thursday Oct 25th and he stunk! Then Sunday we hunted Guernsey and we saw does and bucks everywhere!! The boys are looking for a date to the dance! lol Deer and Deer says that they think the Seeking Phase should have begun on the Oct 27 and the Chasing Phase should start on the 31rst!!! I think they may be right! I can not tell you how many does and bucks we saw today cause there were so many! Hang on folks cause I think this year is gonna be good!!!!!!

Agree. It's really starting to pop in central Ohio.

I tickled the horns a little bit on Sunday morning and had 5 bucks come in.. 2 of them were within bow range (a forkhorn and a small 8 pt.) then two nicer bucks approx. 130-140" wouldn't commit. So it looks like the rut is going to be good this year..:)
