Can't wait to get down to the shop and see how they feel and shoot. Need to get down there tonight.

ultratec1
I had the chance to shoot all the new hoyts with the exception of the X-8 ( that was the main bow I wanted to shoot!!) In my personal opinion the new Katera is a great bow but nothing to flip over. It gained 5fps over the vulcan and it is now back to the original speeds of the old super-tec and turbo-tec. Now the new cam felt great and the draw was smooth, that I will give them a bonus on. However the speed game is not something that I get into. I just feel that the whole speed thing has been blown way outta porportion. The X-7 and X-8's seem like the cat's you know what. Long ATA bows with very forgiving brace height. The X-8 has an 8" brace height!!!! The X-7 was very smooth and the draw cycle was nice. I cant remember if it had the new Z3 cam or the cam and half plus on it, however I was definetly impressed. This will make a great indoor, 3-D or even hunting bow. Now this is the big bad dog that I was totally in disbelief over. Its the new Seven 37. If any of you Hoyt guys out there liked the old Ultra-tec then this is your baby. It was designed after it and when you shoot it, it is like having an ultra-tec in your hands that has smoother cams then the original cam and half. Hoyt definetly listened to their consumers on this one. I know ALOT of people were upset with them taking the Ultra-tec outta the line-up but they definetly didnt disappoint on this one. Now to another exciting thing........the new cam and half plus. This was another complaint from alot fo people that Hoyt fixed. The original cam and half was a great shooting cam and also had the option to adjust for draw length. However when hoyt dropped them alot of people were upset. Well they re-vamped it and now call it the cam and half plus, and I will be the first to say that it is certainly that.........a plus. This is by FAR the smoothest cam I drawn on a hoyt bow. I recommend going to your local shop and try shooting all the bows and both cams that Hoyt came out with this year and then decide. I was asked while I was there what bow I was going to get for staff shooter bow and honestly I havent decided yet. Each bow left such an impression that it will be difficult to decide. All 4 bows should be great shooters fro everyone and no matter what your interest is whether it be indoors, 3-D or hunting they made bow for everyone this year:D Sorry for such a rambling post, sure does start to add up when you get to typing:o

Guest J-Daddy
I was thinking about the Katera XL but honestly there isnt enough difference in it and the '07 Vectrix XL to make me pay that much more $$$. I would like to get my hands on the new 737 though, the Ultratec was my favorite all time Hoyt bow and all I've heard on the 737 was that it's as good if not better than the old Ultratec. That would be a heck of a shooter if it's true.
