Abear
Saturday evening I was sitting in one of my stands. I call it the thicket stand. Its so thick in there until the leaves start falling that my farthest shot was at 20 yards. Well I look to my left and see an 8 pointer making his way down to check this scrape that was made probaly by him. Well I let him walk because he really wasn't big enough at all. But then a doe comes after him and she walks about 20 yards away i draw an shoot i thought i heard it hit. I look for over an hour then my dad comes out to help. We find my arrow and the broadhead had just come out... I didn't even get an inch of penetration so i don't know but i think i might have hit a branch or something. Thats the only sign i found so i am pretty sure that she lived. What do you all think i should do? Should i change broadheads?
whttlbucksteve
Did you have the broadhead come out of the arrow or did the arrow break.
IowaDeerHunter
Did you hit the very thick part of the shoulder?
Abear
The arrow didn't break it just pulled out. I don't know if the glue was bad or what. The arrow got maybe an inch of penetration. Im pretty sure i saw the deer later on that night.
