dogdoc
Does anyone have any BP trajectory tables/charts. I am shooting 100gr (two 50) pyrodex pellets with a 240 grain TC Mag Sabot XTP bullet (.50 cal). I have it shooting right at an inch high at 50 yards. I am just wondering where the bullet would be at 100 and 150???? thanks todd
terry264
hi dogdoc, try this site: hpmuzzleloading.com and click on traditional link for ballistics, think that is where they have all the ballistics at different ranges etc. Also the CVA site has it somewhere too I think. Might try hodgdon.com too.
johnf
I sight mine in at 2" high at 100 shooting 240 gr. T/C Shockwave behind 83 gr. of 777. Last year I shot a doe at 183 yards I aimed about 2" from the top of her back and the poi was about 6" below the spot that I aimed. She dropped after about 35 yards. I got a good passthrough with good expansion.
dogdoc
thanks guys---i think I found what I needed on the Knight and Hale website. 100 gr pyrodex with a 240 jacketed sabbot: 50 yds: 1.59 100 : 0.00 150 : -6.21 I'm right at an inch high at 50 yards so I can hold on right at 100 and adjust from there. My shot shouldn't be any longer than 140 yards so I think I'll be good. thanks for the help todd
wtnhunt
Will take a look in my TC book Todd, it has a table with different loads and bullet weights using pyrodex.
wtnhunt
Found the table in the manual I was talking about Todd. This was for the standard TC black diamond rifle. With a 240 grain xtp mag sabot using 100 grains pyrodex: ................Drop in inches/ Velocity /Energy Range in yards 0 0 / 1868 / 1860 .................. 50 +1.1 / 1696 / 1532 .................. 100 0 / 1539 / 1261 .................. 150 -4.8 / 1399 / 1043 .................. 200 -14.1 / 1276 /

hangunnr
Todd, If you can run your bullets across a chronograph and get an actual velocity I can tell you exactly just where that bullet will be at extended ranges. The charts that are published are nothing more than guesses generated with one particular rifle. Different guns will give widely different results. hangunnr
