buckee
My buddy Steve and Kenw were having a big garage sale last weekend, and had a farmer and his wife, drop in to buy some things. They all got to talking, and the farmer wants us (that's right, all four of us:D) to hunt his 125 acres, that have never been hunted before.:eek: We go up to see him on Saturday, to find out where the property lines are, etc. He also wants us to teach his son to hunt:D which is just another bonus  I haven't even seen the property yet, but I know exactly where it is It's nestled, at the base of the mountains, on one of the last stretches of farm-land, where the deer migrate down to the farmland in the hard winters. and.....I have heard some very reliable rumors that someone on the next road over, or there abouts, used to have a wild boar farm, and there are also a few wild russian boars wondering around out there. and...this place is nestled in a predominant tree-hugging community, so there is a very, very healthy deer population there. It doesn't get much better than that....eh:) The farmer said, they have a lake on the property, he was at the end of the road to the right(last farm) and his property was kind of a big 125 acre pie shaped piece. I went and googled it, and it looks....awesome. Feast your eyes on this

wtnhunt
Think Chris was questioning about wondering Steve. Think you meant wandering, lol. That is really cool though, looks like a promising piece of land.

Go to google earth and zoom in on the property you want. Make sure it's zoomed in to where you want it, then: 1 - Press "PrtScn" on your keyboard 2 - Go to "Start" , "All Programs", "Accessories", then "Paint" 3 - In paint program, Click on "Edit", and then "Paste" 4 - Then click on "File" and then "Save as" 5 - then name it, find a folder on your computer to save it in (My picture) and save it as a jpg

buckee
Disappointment On Saterday we headed out to check out the new property, and meet the owners. Very nice folks for sure, who really appreciate ethical hunters, in spite of the farmer almost getting shot out in the field one day, by some rifle carrying, yahoo, who was not only poaching and trespassing, but using a rifle in a shotgun, and bow only zone. We were actually quite disappoint with the 125 acres, that we got all hyped up over. The place is surrounded by a 4 1/2- 5 ft fence and is double wired electric fence above that to keep the wolves out.:( Well, as soon as we saw that, we realized, most of the property, was a loss, even if the fence is turned off, because the deer are now conditioned to stay out. :( There are however a few smaller areas on the property, outside the electric zone, that look promising, and are huntable. He doesn't want us in there until the sheep are put in for the winter anyway. As you can see on the map below, our 125 dream property, isn't all it appeared to be ...DANG!!!
