Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
woke up late this morning, didnt get out to the woods until 11:30am. at around 1 o'clock, while i am playing yatzee I hear a twig snap, and look to the left and see a small spike. about 40 yards away. I get up, draw and can't get a shot so i turn to aim at an opening i think he is going to go by, but he ends up turning and walking into some really think stuff and i lose sight of him. well as i am putting my bow back up on the hanger, i look up over and the same way the smaller deer came in came a really nice 8 pointer..I know it is the same deer I passed up last year and was waiting to get a shot at this year...so here is my chance..right?? he is 40 yards away...I draw he steps into a nice opening I shoot...I MISS he kind of just spins around acting like "what the heck was that?" i am sure either i went low or my face mask got in the way and sent it in front of the deer and low. So i take the mask off, nock another arrow, draw back, he is still broadside i squeeze the trigger on the release, and then it happened, my arrow just barely pops off the rest and lands at the base of the tree...i look, and notice my peep tubing came of of the peep, i am shaking and tring to put it back on, and the whole time i am making this racket the deer still stands in the smae spot. so i get it fixed, draw back, and notice my arrow isn't lifting up and by the time i noticed it, the broadhead had hit the shelf on the riser while i was drawing back and it falls to the base of the tree as well. I look at my bow again and noticted my rest broke It is a muzzy zero effect, and the plastic arm that connects to o the cable broke where it connects to the main part of the rest. man i am ticked right now, along with the disappointment of missing the deer i have been wanting all year, my rest is broke and i have to get a new one. buckee
Man, oh man, that really bites. :( I feel for ya. I really do. That right there is the reason I love my whisker biscuit so much. Not to rub it in, what happened to you, but there is very little that can go wrong with a biscuit. These new fandangle rests are fantastic, as long as all the parts or working, but there are just too many things that can go wrong with them. Man, I hope you get another stab at that buck. AdvantageTimberLou
Man that is some rotten luck. I would get rid of that peep style tubing design for that very reason. As for the Muzzy rest, that was a freak deal. Just one of those deer you weren't meant to get. Keep at it and bad luck should turn into good luck soon! Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Hopefully he will give ya another shot this year .. ;) I think he will, or at least hope...during all of this he wasn't spooked at all...we just started hunting this land last year, i don't think they see much hunting pressure. I have been wanted to try a rip cord rest or a Q.A.D. ultra rest, guess i may get the chance to now.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
and that 8 pt just chuggled and said he wont get me again this year........... hunter can you say busted i knew you could He never even knew i was there. after the first shot, he looked around, then just went about his business, never seen me, wind was perfect so he didn't smell me, just walked away like nothing was wrong.....I waited until he was gone, got down and picked up my arrows and walked out. I'll get another shot at him. Good thing is my aunt works at gander mountain, so i'll get her discount on my new rest. I'll be over her house on sunday helping them put in a hot tub

BowJoe
Not to give you too hard a time or say that I know more but those are two reasons I switched from those types of equipment. I had the tubing come off on me when trying to shoot a doe and if I have to pay a pro shop to put a rest on and only they can tune it, then that's too much mechanical stuff for me. I used a drop away for several years and they just never stayed tuned for me. I switched in a panic two seasons ago because my drop away fell apart on me when I was trying to tune it. I have never touched the Whisker Biscuit since the day I put it on and tuned it. I love it and it's super simple to put on and tune. I also use a surz peep angled peep sight. You just have to get it adjusted right and you shouldn't have any problems. One thing to keep in mind is that nothing is perfect and something can go wrong with everything. Just try to find it before you need it.
