stringpicker
I have a Leupold RX-II rangefinder. I want to buy a smaller, lighter pair of binocs for bow huntin. I was thinkin about buying either the Leupold or Nikon binocs in around 8x32 power. I would like to keep the same brand of optics(rangefinder and binocs). What is your opinion on who makes the best. Thanks James
LifeNRA
Thats a tough call. I like Nikon because, I have all Nikon lens for my camera, and I also have a Nikon Monarch scope on my .270. Personally, it really doesn't matter if your optics are different! You might even be able to save some money depending which are cheaper! wtnhunt
Personally for glass for binos, for the money, I would probably go with nikon.
Dogg6
I agree, Nikon. I have a Nikon rangefinder and scope and I really like them. For binos though I use Galileo brand 10 x 42. These are very similar in size, clarity and overall design to the Nikon of the same size, just a bit cheaper. I prefer Nikon but money was my major factor at the time. Tominator
I would not buy the Nikon rangefinder. Mine broke a little over 2 years after I bought it. I sent it back to Nikon thinking they'd stand behind their product--they did not. They wanted $176 to fix a $199 product!
maytom
Nikon Pro staff 440 Laser Rangefinder is an awesome unit!! Never had any issues with mine and it's on it's second year now. (Of course, you can't drop them!!) I love the fact that they are small, compact, waterproof, and who really needs more than 440 yards anyway? Cabela's now has them for $179.95, that's $20.00 cheaper than when I bought mine.
johnf
Don't know much about their range finders, but have done a bit of background work on thier scopes and binos. They are about the same quality, both having their strenghts and drawbacks. Overall I think you get more for your money with a nikon. For the same quality you are going to have to pay a bit more for the leu.
